Bookings for 2026 will be available soon!

Targeted Opportunity Projects

Alongside our regular day trips, we plan to develop a range of targeted opportunities, subject to funding applications in 2025.  These projects will be designed to support specific groups within the community and respond to particular needs.

As funding is confirmed, details of these initiatives will be published here, including eligibility criteria, project aims, and a dedicated booking process for each opportunity.

Lifted by the Tide

Lifted by the Tide

Funded through the Essex Community Fund by the Minter Family Fund and the John Laing Charitable Fund

Lifted by the Tide is a weekly, gentle boat trip along the River Blackwater, offering older members of our community the chance to enjoy a leisurely journey on the water, share a cuppa, and connect with others.

Designed for those who may be feeling lonely or less active, the trips provide a calm, welcoming space to relax, chat, and take in the sights of the river at an easy pace.  There's no pressure—just fresh air, friendly faces, and time well spent together.

Whether you're looking for companionship, a reason to get out and about, or simply a peaceful moment on the water, Lifted by the Tide offers connection, comfort, and community—one gentle journey at a time.

Bookings will go live for this in February for April onwards.

Blue Clean Access to the Blackwater Estuary

Blue Clean Access
Funded through the National Lottery Community Fund

An inclusive environmental project based on Mersea Island, giving people of all ages and abilities the chance to protect and learn about the local marine environment.

Using our fully accessible 11.4-metre catamaran, we'll run weekly boat trips and shoreline sessions over five months from May 2026 .  Participants will take part in hands-on activities including marine litter collection, wildlife recording, and simple water-quality testing, while learning more about the Blackwater Estuary.

Working with partners such as Surfers Against Sewage, Essex Wildlife Trust, local schools, and community groups, the project supports existing conservation efforts and trains local volunteers to help deliver future accessible sessions.

The project will conclude with a community showcase on Mersea Island, celebrating participants' achievements and the positive impact made on the estuary.

This project will be by invitation only so if you are interested for your group or school please get in touch
